WHAT WE DO

Inspired by the internationally renowned Finnish model of early education curriculum, we intend to embrace Nordic values of accessibility and openness, and bring the excellence of Finnish early childhood education to Australia.

We blend Finnish early childhood education concepts
with other elements such as science and technology, foreign languages and mathematics.

 

At ILO early education centre, we

  • believe that joy is the fundamental element of learning

  • support children’s curiosity and creativity

  • provide a safe environment that supports children’s holistic growth, which allows them to explore, discover and enjoy learning

  • collaborate with families and communities to develop children’s self-identity, values and healthy personalities

Mathematics

Other than counting, ILO provides systematic mathematics program to stimulate children’s logical and numerical intelligence. S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education fosters children’s critical thinking, problem solving and questioning skills. These techniques equip children with the skills and abilities to create their future with countless possibilities.

Foreign Languages

Australia is one the most diverse societies in the world. ILO provides foreign languages (other than English) learning opportunities for children and families. Researchers discovered that bilingual or multilingual children show advantages in aspects such as:

  • openness to different cultures and reveal of respect and appreciation

  • emotional development: self-value, belonging and sense of identity

  • social development: better understanding on others’ tones, intentions, viewpoints and ideas

Science and Technology

Children are curious to every little thing in their daily life. ILO implements science and technology into routines and nurtures children to:

  • imagine different possibilities

  • experiment and be creative in solving problems
